History of Dymock Festival

villageoftheyear

In 2012 Dymock held a weekend of festivities to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. This included a mini Olympics, 1950s tea party, fancy dress pram race, carnival and culminating in a concert at the cricket ground. Although the concert lasted only a few hours and was beset by torrential rain and winds, there were 400 tickets sold on the door and everyone had a blast! The resulting good feeling in the Village after this weekend gave us the impetus to make the Dymock Festival an annual event. For the past few years, it has been preceded by the Dymock Half Marathon.
